A good time for a party

On Saturday night we celebrated my dad's 52nd birthday! My sister, Shamae, had the party at her house. We had the full on bbq experience before the party really began, all the way from hamburgers down to potato salad! Then it was time for desert. My dad doesn't like cake so between Shamae and I we had three delicious pies! Then my dad opened his presents. I think my dad had a great birthday if I do say so myself.

Look how great these pies look! All homemade

We were all watching my dad open his presents

Two of the cutest kids in the world!

I just love her!!

My dad freaks me out when he does that, but
Ashlyn loves it!

A Fun Day

I thought I was going to have to miss Ashlyns first time eating carrots. Luckily, I got off work early so I didn't miss a thing! My sister Shamae came over with my two adorable nieces. They had lots of fun feeding Ashlyn. Ashlyn seemed to like the carrots just as much as the sweet potatoes.
Later, since the weather was so nice, Drew and I decided to take Ashlyn and Tank for a walk around the Green Belt. We all had a lot of fun! Ashlyn loved all of the ducks ( but not as much as Tank). The day turned out to be pretty great.

Ashlyn loved Aunt Shamae feeding her

She even let Sydney and Morgan feed her!

Mmmm.... yummy carrots

Ashlyn is all ready for her walk!

She is very excited!

Drew, Tank and I are taking a rest.

Ashlyn loved it by the water. She was so fascinated
by all of the birds down there.

Then she threw up her lunch! Shamae was right,
Carrots do stain clothes.

The poor tuckered out thing fell asleep.

Drew was so excited to get a kiss from me!!

As well as a hug.

Drew took me to the spot where he proposed three years ago.
Then he laid one on me!

Ashlyn's new accomplishment!

Ashlyn has been practicing sitting up for a while now. I think she finally has it down pretty well. She sat up all by herself almost all morning! She was so proud!

Ashlyn sitting up all by herself!

Tank wanted to show Ashlyn how it was done

Then things got a little out of control.
But Ash didn't fall over through all that chaos!

Ashlyn's New Food!

Today for lunch we let Ashlyn have sweet potatoes for the first time. At first she wasn't quite sure what to think, but like all the other foods she has tried so far, she quickly learned to love them!

Ashlyn didn't like the sweet potatoes at first.

Then she decided they were pretty tasty!

When she was all done she wanted Tank (our chihuahua) to clean her hands off. Gross!

Update

Well... its been a while since I've updated everyone on what's going on with us. To start out with, Ashlyn was born October 25! She weighed 6 pounds and was 20 inches long. She is almost 6 months old now and definitely growing fast! She weighs 12 pounds and is 241/2 inches long.

Drew has turned into a busy guy. He is working three jobs as well as taking a math class. He is hoping to get into a computer programing program this fall.
As for me, I am working 3 to 4 days a week at a salon just off of Sunnyside. I'm loving every minute of it (even though its hard to leave Ash sometimes)!
We are currently in the market for a new car. Not to mention any names, but someone... who lets say likes to be called Drew totaled our old car. Luckily no one got hurt.

We started Ashlyn on rice cereal about 2 weeks ago. She loves it! I can't feed it to her fast enough.

To Speed things up, Ash decided to grab the bowl and feed herself! When it comes to food its serious business.

While we were at an Easter party, Ashlyn found out frosting was her new favorite food.

At the Easter party, Ashlyn found her Easter present in a bush!

She absolutely loved it! She thought it was the greatest thing.

Ashlyn showed off her new Easter dress with grandma Kathy and grandpa Marc.

We all had lots of fun at the Easter party! Syd (my niece) and I decorated cupcakes and cookies.
